The Department for Work and Pensions has published statistics revealing how many Personal Independence Payment, or PIP , claims are cut or stopped altogether. Reviews of PIP awards may result in the amount being paid being reduced , or ceased entirely.
Reasons for this include the end of a fixed-term payment period, or changes to the claimant's health . However, DWP figures spanning up to the end of April 2025 show the majority of those going through claim reviews retain their existing payment amounts - or see them rise.
