Commuters who take the 4, 5, 6 will be displeased to know that track replacement work will suspend service south of Grand Central-42 St on the upcoming weekends of August 15th-18th and August 22nd-25th.

Track replacement work includes renewing the infrastructure and replacing the concrete under switches north of 14th Street to protect against leaks and corrosion, and to support the MTA’s commitment to maintaining the subway system’s functionality and structural stability.

Simultaneously, the MTA will take advantage of the 4, 5, 6 suspensions to make additional improvements along the Lexington line, from accessibility projects, communications upgrades, under-river tunnel repairs, and more.
