Police swooped on a residential road in Edinburgh on Thursday morning.

Officers were spotted on Broomhouse Terrace in Corstorphine around 11.40am on August 7.

Photos from the scene show multiple police vehicles blocking the road.

Cars can be seen parked all the way up the avenue with one preventing traffic from entering the street.

The nature of the incident is not currently known. Police Scotland has been approached for comment.

One passerby said: "I came around the corner and there was a marked police car blocking the road and officers stood nearby. It looked like there was a tent in the front garden of one of the homes. It wasn't immediately clear what had happened but I just hope everyone is ok."
