CHEYENNE – A large contribution will help Wyoming law enforcement officers in the state’s rural communities to help provide residents in crisis with 24/7 access to mental health experts via tele-health.

A $2.4 million gift will enable Wyoming law enforcement respond to people experiencing a mental health crisis through Virtual Crisis Care.

Gov. Mark Gordon described Tuesday, Aug. 5, “an exciting day,” as he announced that a $2.4 million grant from the Helmsley Charitable Trust will go to the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police (WASCOP) to help law enforcement officers deploy a virtual mental health crisis care demonstration project.
