FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A ceremony will be held today in Fall River to celebrate its designation as a Purple Heart City.

This represents the community’s support for military personnel who have been hurt or killed in combat.

Lakeville was recently named a Purple Heart Town, and the Fall River ceremony is set to be held at Bicentennial Park at 10 this morning.
