SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Spalding County gang member was sentenced to life in prison plus five years on Tuesday for the 2023 shooting death of an 11-year-old girl while she was sleeping, said the Georgia attorney general.
Kionta Parks, 23, pleaded guilty to all charges against him, including felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, domestic terrorism, two counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
"Kionta Parks is exactly what we’re fighting against each day – someone who would so carelessly take a life, destroy a family, and terrorize a community without fear or remorse," said Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr. "No parent should have to worry about their child making it through the night
