CHICAGO — Authorities in Chicago are asking for help in the search for a driver wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left a person seriously injured on the South Side last week.

Officers said the crash unfolded just after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, in the 750 block of West Marquette Road, in Englewood.

According to Chicago police, the victim, whose age is unknown, was in the roadway in the area when they were struck by a grey SUV heading eastbound along Marquette.

Officers said that following the crash, the driver of the SUV fled the scene.

The victim suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Chicago police are now asking for help from the public in the search for the driver involved.
