Police are investigating after a teen was shot in the leg in Brockton, Massachusetts, on Wednesday night.

Brockton police said they responded to the area of 88 North Pearl St. around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a male with a gunshot wound to the leg.

When they arrived, officers found a 17-year-old male from Taunton suffering from a leg injury. He was taken by ambulance to a Boston hospital and is expected to survive.

The details surrounding how and where the injury occurred remain under investigation, police said.
