A 46-year-old man was discovered unresponsive with head trauma lying in the street Wednesday evening on the North Side in the Rogers Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of an unresponsive man lying in the street in the 1400 block of West Estes Avenue. When they arrived, officers discovered a victim with head trauma.

The man was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was pronounced dead. Detectives opened a death investigation pending autopsy results.
