A 14-year-old boy was among two people wounded during an argument overnight in the South Chicago neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before midnight, officers responded to a shooting in the 7900 block of South Paxton Avenue where a 31-year-old man told them he was involved in an argument with three people when one of the people he was arguing with pulled out a gun and fired in his direction, police said.

The initial victim suffered a graze wound to the right thigh and was taken to UChicago Medicine in fair condition. One of the three males involved in the argument was later identified as a 14-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
