MINOT, ND (KXNET) — The roar of engines and the thrill of competition are alive and well in the Magic City, thanks to the Magic City International Dragway (MCID), North Dakota’s only IHRA-sanctioned 1/8-mile dragstrip. Nestled on the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, MCID has become a summer staple for racers and fans alike.
From May through October, the dragway hosts a full slate of events, from grassroots bracket racing to high-octane heads-up shootouts.
“It’s more than just racing,” says MCID board member and longtime racer Mike Hanson. “It’s about family, community, and keeping the sport alive in North Dakota.”
