CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Patrick Morrisey has announced the creation of the Mountaineer Mile walking trail at the State Fair of West Virginia, providing attendees with a new way to stay active while enjoying the fair.

The one-mile walking route begins and ends at Tomblin Plaza, located just inside the main entrance to the fairgrounds.

The trail is marked by Mountaineer Mile placards provided by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR), making it easy for walkers to follow the designated path.

Governor Morrisey will be attending the State Fair for Governor’s Day on Friday, August 8, and is inviting fairgoers to join him in walking the inaugural Mountaineer Mile.

The walk is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM, with participants asked to gather at Tomblin Plaza.
