BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - A powerful storm system is forecast to bring severe weather across much of North Dakota on Thursday, with the National Weather Service warning of large hail, damaging winds, and the possibility of tornadoes.

The most intense activity is expected to develop in the afternoon and evening, affecting areas from Dickinson to Fargo and stretching across central and eastern parts of the state. Forecasters have placed the region under a Level 3 storm risk, indicating a heightened potential for widespread severe weather.

Storms may produce hail as large as baseballs and wind gusts exceeding 60 mph. A
