Rapidgrass music festival returns to Idaho Springs for the 16th year, and advertises more than a dozen bands over the two-day outdoor event.

Festival organizers with the Clear Creek Metropolitan Recreation District said they expect anywhere from 800-to-1000 attendees from across Clear Creek County and the state. They even expect national and international guests this year.

Special Events Assistant Colleen Duke said there will be a few changes this year as construction is underway for a new sports complex and skatepark on the east side of the ballfields, where the festival is typically held.

“We’re actually seeing more space and flow this year on the opposite side of the field and it will be a fresh new look for the beloved classic Rapidgrass festival,” Duke said.
