A man has been sentenced after harassing his former partner. Damien Asplen, 33, already had an injunction against him that stopped him from contacting his ex-partner, a woman from Cambridge.
He repeatedly violated the injunction, using text, WhatsApp, and Facebook to ask her for money and help between January and March of this year. His ex-partner made copies of the messages and shared them with police to try to stop the behaviour.
Asplen, of no fixed abode, admitted three counts of harassment and was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday, August 4, to 10 months for each offence, to run concurrently.
Asplen was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, to run consecutively, for failing to comply with Sex Offenders Register requirements for him to update where he was staying.
