GRESHAM, Ore. (KPTV) - Crews in Gresham were called to an early morning apartment fire on Thursday.
Just after 4 a.m., firefighters from the Gresham Fire Department responded to a fire in the 1700 block of NE 162nd Avenue. Officials say the fire was contained to one unit.
A neighbor spoke with FOX 12 and said they weren’t exactly surprise as they have seen issues at the same apartment unit in the past.
“I woke up to screams and sirens, then I ran outside and saw firefighters putting out a fire in a separate unit,” the neighbor said. “There was a previous issue a couple weeks ago, the person tried to start a fire in the same unit.”
Gresham Fire confirmed the same unit sustained damage from a fire on July 26.
Investigators have not confirmed it was arson and they are working to determin
