The owners of Al Wadi on VFW Parkway in West Roxbury have filed plans to open a Lebanese restaurant at 280 Shawmut Ave. in the South End - which longtime residents would remember as the home of Nadia's Eastern Star, a remnant of the once bustling Syrian/Lebanese community in the South End and Chinatown.

The Boston Licensing Board voted today to defer any action on Lina Samaha's request for a full liquor license for her proposed two-level, 67-seat Bey restaurant, not because of any problems with her application but because she applied for one of the city's new Zip-code-specific licenses and the board plans to hold those requests until it holds a single meeting at which to consider them all at once.

The board has yet to set a date for that meeting on the latest batch of requests for Zip-co
