ADAMSVILLE, S.C. (WBTV) - A skeleton found on a vacant farm in South Carolina last week belonged to a man who lived just across the state line in North Carolina, officials said.
The skeleton was reportedly found in the Adamsville area of Marlboro County, officials said on Aug. 1. Sister-station said the human remains were located on a vacant farm while it was being mowed.
Nearly a week later, the Marlboro County on Aug. 7 that the skeleton belonged to Shelton Bennett, who lived in Scotland County, N.C., which is about 15 minutes from Adamsville, across the state line.
Based on a called “Finding Shelton Bennett,” he appeared to have been missing since August 2023. Posts from the Facebook page indicated that Bennett was in his late 20s and had at least one young child. Another page
