Ontario police have seized more than $55 million worth of illegal cannabis, including 107,000 plants, and charged 16 people in Haldimand County.
On July 16, investigators executed a search warrant at a large greenhouse area on Highway 3, said an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) news release Thursday.
It's the biggest bust made at one location in recent years, said the OPP.
Inside, they found the plants and 950 pounds of dried cannabis buds. They also seized grow lights, machinery and processing equipment.
The 16 people arrested were charged with cultivating cannabis without authorization and for the purpose of distribution, said police. Their ages range from 24 to 58 years old.
