Dorothy Marie Evans Hess, born July 15, 1936, in Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 89 years old.

Dorothy was the daughter of Dorothy Marie and Darhl E. Evans. Throughout her life, she lived in several places, including Nyssa, Oregon; Tulelake, California; and Malad, Idaho. During elementary school, she fell ill and missed enough school that her mother held her back a grade. She ended up in the same grade as her younger brother Bob, and many people thought they were twins. She later graduated from Malad High School, where she served on the yearbook staff with Bob.
