MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A man visiting the Grand Strand with his family died after being pulled from the ocean in North Myrtle Beach, an official said.

Anthony Rowe, 69, died in the hospital from an “apparent” asphyxiation due to drowning Wednesday, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Rowe was from Conover, North Carolina, Willard said.
