HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two people are facing charges after being accused of not quickly getting a child who ate THC gummies medical treatment.

The Horry County Police Department charged Michael Clark and Alysha Clark each with unlawful conduct toward a child, jail records show.

Documents state that the 5-year-old child ate 150 milligrams of THC gummies around 9 a.m. Wednesday, while at the 100 block of Vaught Place in the Myrtle Beach area.

According to the documents, medical staff said this amount could have seriously harmed or killed the child.

Alysha told officers she woke up around 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, and heard Michael asked the child what they took, a police report shows.
