LATROBE (WTAJ) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed Pro Bowl offensive tackle Andrus Peat, head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Wednesday.

"We absorbed some attrition in those spaces, and so a grizzly veteran with multi-positional experience is an asset," he said before practice on Thursday.

A three-time Pro Bowler with the New Orleans Saints, Peat has more than 100 career starts and helps sure up one of the Steelers' biggest concerns at left tackle.

Peat was a 2013 first-round pick for New Orleans and spent nine seasons with the team. Last year, he joined the Raiders, where he served as a backup but appeared in 15 games.
