CASCADE, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa factory staff told U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley on Wednesday that tariffs on steel and lumber from Canada are changing how they do business.

Cascade Manufacturing Company is a third-generation family business that produces steel and wood trusses.

“Naturally, [steel and wood] are the biggest component of our products, so any time there’s uncertainty in the pricing of those things, it impacts our ability to be in business,” says Cascade Manufacturing Company Vice President Scott Wagner.

Cascade Manufacturing Company President Tim Noonan says the business is splitting the higher costs from tariffs between the company and the consumer.
