WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita is one of six finalists for the 2025 SportsTravel Awards’ best sports-event host city.

Visit Wichita said the city has hosted more than 100 events that have had a $61 million economic impact within the past years.

Some of those events include the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the National Baseball Congress World Series, the U.S. lacrosse national championship and Athletes Unlimited professional softball.

Other finalists are: Atlanta; Boise, Idaho; Charlotte, N.C.; Des Moines, Iowa; and Milwaukee.
