WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Crystina Schroer of Rose Hill, who was accused of killing her adoptive daughter, is headed to trial. On Wednesday, Schroer pleaded no contest to the four charges against her, meaning she did not admit guilt but also did not contest the allegations.

Kennedy’s body was found in September 2024, buried in the backyard of a home. Investigators do not know an exact date they believe Kennedy died, but say it happened in November 2022. A report says Kennedy likely died from suffocation.

A probable cause affidavit released in February detailed allegations of abuse leading up to the death of six-year-old Kennedy Jean Schroer.
