WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A former Nickerson High School coach appeared in court Thursday, facing charges related to child sex crimes. Ryan Stoecklein is charged with sexual exploitation of a child under 18 and attempted unlawful sexual relations.

His arrest is the second involving someone connected to the Nickerson School District in recent months.

Antonio Rodriguez, a Nickerson resident, shared a growing concern over what he called a pattern of troubling behavior within the district. Rodriguez has school-aged children, but refuses to send them to Nickerson schools.

“What I expect from the school is transparent communication,” said Rodriguez. “That is not what we’ve seen, at least from my perspective, over these last two incidents.”
