JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A ribbon-cutting was held Thursday for a new bark park in Johnson City.
"This project was started around 4 or 5 years ago," Johnson City Parks and Recreation Director April Norris said. "We were awarded a grant through the Dog Park Dash with the Buoy Foundation. We had some generous donors come forward. It's moved several locations and finally landed here."
The new park (located at 246 West King Street) is free and open to the community.
"I'd like to come a couple times a week, hopefully," Lisa Owenby, a visitor at the park, said. "I hope the community really gets behind it because this is a really nice dog park, and I hope it's really supported." • WJHL Photo • WJHL Photo • WJHL Photo • WJHL Photo
