LAHAINA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The first restaurant to fully rebuild and reopen in Lahaina following the 2023 Maui wildfires is giving back to the community.

On Wednesday, Sale Pepe Pizzeria e Cucina announced it’s donating all proceeds from each margherita pizza serving to the Maui Pono Foundation throughout the month of August.

Owners Michele and Qiana Di Bari’s original Italian restaurant location was destroyed in the fires. The pizzeria reopened in March of this year.

The couple moved to Maui from Brooklyn, New York, nearly a decade prior to the fires, eager to share their handmade pasta and artisanal pizzas.

Through the grief of losing their restaurant and seeing devastation ravage their home and community, the Di Baris were determined to rebuild, and now wish to give back to frien
