HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu firefighters responded to a brush fire in the Kapolei area on Friday.

The Honolulu Fire Department closed Lexington Street, between Franklin D Roosevelt Avenue and Saratoga Avenue, while they fought the blaze.

Smoke could be seen from the road coming out of the brush along Lexington Street.

Officials have asked the public to avoid the area if possible.
