Former Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker, currently a free agent, has been suspended by the NFL for the first 12 games of the 2025 season.

The news surfaced Wednesday evening via the league’s transaction wire. As of now, the NFL has not provided a reason for the suspension.

Per league rules, Walker remains eligible to sign with a team and participate in all preseason activities, including games. The suspension would take effect after teams finalize their 53-man rosters heading into the regular season.

Walker has been a free agent since last September, following his release from the San Francisco 49ers. While with San Francisco, he spent time on the practice squad but did not appear in a regular-season game.
