Ready to build your own temple?

No need to be an ancient king, either. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science temporary exhibit, Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia enables kids to design their own temple starting with rusty “red stone,” using “sandstone” for the walls and towers, adding statues and gold on the rooftops. The real towers were nearly 200 feet tall.

This traveling exhibit, in Denver until Aug. 24, 2025, is “the story of an ancient metropolis that held some of the world’s most astonishing architectural marvels, only to then vanish into the Southeast Asian jungle,” the exhibit explains.
