Ashley National Forest has announced that Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will go into effect on Friday after experiencing two wildfires in just five days. Fire crews responded to the Hicks Park Fire on August 1st and the Davis Hollow Fire on August 5th. The Hicks Fork Fire was controlled by August 3rd and, as of Wednesday’s report, the Davis Hollow Fire was 1.3 acres in size. It is located southeast of Davis Hollow off Forest Service Road 245 and the response has included 3 engines, a helicopter, and 10 person crew. “Fire activity on Wednesday [was] minimal with fire crews extinguishing remaining hot spots or threats to fire spread,” shares the Forest announcement. “The fire is human caused and appears to have been started by an escaped campfire…Those visiting Ashley National Forest are urged t
