A former Woonsocket, R.I. man who now lives in California was sentenced Tuesday to 16 years in federal prison for climbing onto the roof of a Massachusetts family’s garage so he could secretly record an 11-year-old girl as she changed in her bedroom, prosecutors said.

Jacob Guerrero, 27, of Woodland, was also sentenced to five years of supervised release after he leaves prison, U.S. District Attorney Leah B. Foley’s office said in a statement.

He pleaded guilty in August 2024 to one count of sexually exploiting a child, the statement said.
