THOMPSON TWP., SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Governor Josh Shapiro stated that two state troopers were shot in Susquehanna County Thursday afternoon.

The investigation began around 11:30 a.m. in the area of State Route 171 near Thompson Township and Susquehanna.

Information on what prompted the shooting of two state troopers is limited at this time. The current conditions of the troopers are unknown.

"Lori and I are praying for those troopers. It is an active situation," Shapiro stated during a press conference in Bucks County.

State police have advised the public to avoid the area until further notice.
