Buoy, the mascot for the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, was briefly charged by a grizzly bear during a promotional video shoot in Alaska.
Buoy and Kraken forward John Hayden were fly-fishing in Katmai National Park when the crew noticed a grizzly bear approaching from the other side of the river, according to a video released by the team.
While walking through the river away from the bear, Buoy is briefly charged by the grizzly from behind before the animal stops in the water. No people or animals were harmed during the incident.
“I want to blame it on Buoy,” Hayden said. “They were pretty interested in his whole look. So, we got out of it okay but it was a close call.”
“That last little sprint, I was worried for you Buoy,” another crew member said in the video.
