JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Neighbors are giving their thoughts after the accused Fort Stewart shooter, Quornelius Radford, was revealed to have ties to Jacksonville’s Westside, according to court records listing his address in the McGirts Village West neighborhood.
Some in the area described Radford as a familiar face, though many said they did not know him personally.
“I just talk to people and wave when they go by,” said Johnny Bunch, a resident of seven years.
Neighbors say they’d seen Radford around the area and occasionally spoken with him, but news of his accused involvement in the shooting left the neighborhood in disbelief.
Radford is accused of shooting and wounding five fellow soldiers Wednesday at Fort Stewart in Georgia. Officials say he used a personal handgun in the incident.
