LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A new microschool called Nurturing Minds is redefining education for kindergarten to 8th-grade students in Lakeside Village, offering a personalized learning experience with a scenic lake backdrop.

Founded by Jessica Oster, Nurturing Minds combines Montessori methods with mixed-age classrooms to tailor lessons to students' interests. The school supports homeschooling families by providing guidance from teachers.

"I got a lot of tattoos, I've got facial piercings and colored hair, I know that's not like what some places look for in a teacher," Oster said, explaining her motivation to create a unique educational environment.
