AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey on Thursday announced the launch of Operation Robocall Roundup, a sweeping, multistate initiative aimed at curbing the flood of illegal robocalls plaguing Americans.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force, includes all 50 state attorneys general and targets 37 voice service providers accused of facilitating scam calls, Frey's office said in a press release. Each provider has received a warning letter demanding that they take immediate action to stop illegal robocall traffic on their networks.
