MASSAC COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A manhunt is underway in Massac County after a chase involving law enforcement officers.

According to the Massac County Sheriff’s Office, the manhunt is in the area of 145 and Marion Road on Thursday afternoon, August 7.

The Metropolis Police Department and Illinois State Police are also involved in the manhunt.

They say an unknown male wearing a dark-colored shirt ran after a vehicle chase.

Deputies ask residents to avoid the area. Residents are also urged to lock their doors and vehicles.

They say you can call 911 if you see anything suspicious.
