A body found Monday near a Port Allen pipeline access road has been identified as a 22-year-old man from Houston, the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office reports.
Xavier Drake was reported missing by Houston Police and was last seen alive on July 25. His body was found Aug. 4.
The reason Drake was in Port Allen remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing, said Sgt. Landon Groger with the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies do not suspect any foul play, but said a cause of death will need to be determined by a coroner's full autopsy.
The body was found around 2:30 p.m. Monday off Lobdell Highway. The gender could not immediately be identified.
In addition to investigators with the Louisiana State Police Crime Scene Unit, an LSU entomology professor also assisted in the case.
