DAVENPORT, Iowa — Jacky Michael Mabikulu, a 35-year-old man from Coralville, has been sentenced to 144 months in federal prison for possessing fentanyl with intent to distribute and carrying a firearm during a drug crime.

Court documents revealed Mabikulu had a loaded handgun and 397 fentanyl pills resembling prescription medication. He had previous convictions in 2022 and 2024 for possessing firearms as a felon.

United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal announced that after serving his prison term, Mabikulu will undergo four years of supervised release. The federal system does not offer parole.
