BATON ROUGE, La. — Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is teaming up with other state attorneys general to urge the U.S. Department of Justice to take stronger action against illegal offshore and online gambling operations.

The coalition of 50 attorneys general warn that the lack of regulation around these activities is harming customers and negatively impacting the economy. They said illegal online gaming is projected to generate more than $400 billion annually, resulting in an estimated $4 billion loss in tax revenue for states.

A letter request to the DOJ was sent by AG Murrill and the coalition to U.S. Attorney General Pan Bondi.
