There’s always something to do at the Newnan Theatre Company.

The nonprofit theatre group opened its 48th season last week with a rendition of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ the first of several productions on its 2025-26 calendar.

Craig Jones, who’s collaborated with the Newnan Theatre Company before on shows like The Importance of Being Earnest and Perfect Arrangement, is directing the season opener. The show runs from August 7-10, 14-17, and 21-24.

Jones also wrote the stage adaptation, combining the classic story with more modern elements.

“What makes this version a little bit different than other versions is we do incorporate Bridgerton,” Jones said. “So there is a Lady Chatterwood who writes a society paper that causes some trouble for the Bennett family.”
