I-58 Mission welcomed 122 school-aged children and their families on Saturday, July 26, for its annual Back to School Bash at 2450 Highway 85.
Each child received back-to-school supplies and an Old Navy gift card to shop for clothes, thanks to support from One Church and other community partners. The event, held in advance of the new school year, provided backpacks, pencils, crayons, glue, scissors, folders, composition books and other classroom essentials.
Karhma Novak, executive director of I-58, said the mission was blessed with the donations, which came from churches and individuals. Children who did not receive a Bible last year were given one this year through support from Sharpsburg First Church of the Nazarene.
