Coach Joel Taylor isn’t just coaching football at the University of West Georgia. He’s building a program the same way he helped build a home: step by step, room by room.
He and his wife, Mechelle, were recently featured on HGTV’s “House Hunters” while searching for a home in Carrollton. Behind the reality TV smiles was a strategic process familiar to Taylor: assess options, break it into phases and build with intention.
“That’s how I coach,” Taylor told members of the Rotary Club of Newnan. “You’ve got to break up everything. You’ve got to departmentalize everything.”
Now in his second year as head coach, Taylor joined UWG Director of Athletics Jason Carmichael for Wednesday’s meeting.
