GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office announced they are implementing a new program that will focus on building positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.
Officials said the Community Engagement Team aims to foster trust, improve communication and address community concerns.
The team will launch a multitude of initiatives to help build community. One is the youth programs, where they plan to engage with local schools and youth organizations to create positive interactions between the youth and law enforcement.
The team began their first youth program on Thursday, called the Backpacks and Badges program, for the first day of school. GCSO Lieutenant Tommy Gainous said that GCSO is always here to help the youth.
