CHICAGO (WLS) -- There have been two incidents this week of an unknown man approaching women in a North Side park, following them and inappropriately touching them, officials said Thursday.

Ald. Andre Vasquez, who represents the 40th Ward, said the incidents took place in West Ridge Nature Park, located at 5801 N. Western Ave.

Chicago police officials confirmed they are investigating, and the Chicago Park District is aware, Vasquez said.

A 53-year-old woman was struck on her body by an unknown offender around 10:15 p.m. Monday, and a 33-year-old woman was smacked on her buttocks by an unknown offender around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, CPD said.
