CAROL STREAM, Ill. (WLS) -- Thousands in the west suburbs are without power Friday, after a communication tower fell on some power lines, ComEd said.
The tower fell near Schmale and St. Charles roads in Carol Stream about 11 a.m., and over 25,000 customers in Wheaton, Carol Stream, Winfield and Hanover Park are without power, a spokesperson said.

ComEd did not give an estimated time for restoration, but some are back online.
Crews are working as quickly as possible, ComEd said.
"We are committed to providing safe, reliable energy to all customers, and will work until all affected customers are back in service," ComEd said.
