A bomb threat evacuated Cambridge Centre mall for one and a half hours Thursday morning.
Waterloo Regional Police said on Thursday, at approximately 9 a.m., mall staff told police they had received an online report of a bomb at the mall.
Six squad cars were parked out front of the mall’s main doors and officers were seen making a sweep outside as employees from the mall’s various stores stood in the parking lot and along the walls of the building.
Before 10 a.m., store managers received a text stating, “Cambridge Centre Emergency. We are experiencing an active threat. Proceed to a secure location and await further instructions.”
